Surrey Football Club is proud to announce that Surrey will host the Canada Soccer U-15 National Championships from October 6–12, 2026 at Newton Athletic Park. This marks the exciting return of Canada Soccer’s Youth National Championships to Surrey, building on the momentum of hosting the historic 100th edition of the Adult National Championships in 2024.
As one of Canada’s leading community clubs, Surrey FC continues to play an important role in supporting the development of players within the Canada Soccer pathway, from grassroots participation to elite competition. “Hosting a national event of this scale reflects the club’s ongoing commitment to providing high-quality opportunities for young athletes while strengthening the local soccer landscape” said technical director Paul Bahia.
The U-15 National Championships bring together the top youth teams from across the country, all of whom have earned their place through a competitive qualification process. The tournament represents the highest level of amateur youth soccer in Canada, offering players the chance to compete against the best in their age group while being evaluated within the national development pathway. Over the course of the week, teams will compete in group stage matches followed by knockout rounds, culminating in the Canadian Finals on Thanksgiving Monday. Beyond the matches themselves, the event creates a full tournament experience with opening ceremonies, community engagement, and a championship atmosphere that celebrates the growth of the game nationwide.
Surrey FC “continues to lead through hospitality and community engagement, creating experiences that go beyond the pitch while showcasing Surrey’s culture and inspiring lifelong connections to the game” added director of marketing Jasluv Brar. With one of the most vibrant and multicultural populations in Canada, Surrey provides the perfect backdrop for a national competition that reflects the inclusivity and accessibility of the sport. The club takes great pride in creating an environment where players, families, and visitors feel welcomed both on and off the field.
This event is made possible in part through the support of organizations such as viaSport British Columbia, whose continued investment in amateur sport plays a vital role in delivering high-quality competitions across the province. viaSport BC provides essential funding and strategic support that helps local organizations like Surrey FC host events of this scale, ensuring athletes have access to meaningful development opportunities within their communities.
Hosting national tournaments also plays a significant role in driving sport tourism in Surrey. Events like the Canada Soccer National Championships and the annual Surrey Mayor’s Cup bring thousands of players, coaches, officials, and families into the city. This not only highlights Surrey as a premier destination for sport but also supports local businesses, hotels, and community services. Surrey FC is proud to contribute to the city’s growing reputation as a hub for major sporting events in Canada.
As preparations begin for October 2026, Surrey FC looks forward to welcoming teams from across the country and delivering an unforgettable experience for all participants. The club remains committed to fostering player development, strengthening community connections, and continuing to grow the game at every level.
